With exactly a week to go until polling day, here are ten good reasons to vote Conservative.
We will:
1) Cut income tax by increasing the personal allowance to £12,500 so there’s no tax on the minimum wage, and by raising the 40p threshold to £50,000. No increase in rates of income tax, national insurance or VAT.
2) Clear the deficit so Britain lives within its means and can keep investing in our vital public services. Hold an in-out referendum on the EU by the end of 2017 so people have the chance to decide whether we stay in a reformed Europe or leave.
3) Support business to create two million more jobs, building on the two million new jobs created over the last five years, so more people have the security and dignity of a pay packet.
4) Protect the green belt.
5) Deliver 30 hours of free childcare for working parents of 3 and 4 year olds, so it is easier for parents to return to work or run a business if they choose to.
6) Reduce the benefit cap from £26,000 to £23,000, so it always pays to work, and use the money to deliver three million apprenticeships to help young people get the skills they need to get on in life.
7) Guarantee increases in the Basic State Pension and protect pensioner benefits like the Freedom Pass.
8) Stop Labour's 'Mansion Tax' on the family home. We will also take family homes out of Inheritance Tax by increasing the Inheritance Tax allowance for married couples to £1 million by introducing a new £175,000 per person transferable allowance for a main residence.
9) Invest in our National Health Service so we are spending £8 billion more per year on it by 2020 in real terms so the NHS can press ahead with its Five Year Forward View plan.
10) Continue with our major programme of improvements our transport network which is delivering the biggest upgrade in our railways since the Victorian era and the most extensive programme of road improvements since the 1970s. Freeze rail and tube fares in real terms for five years.
