Theresa Villiers, MP for Chipping Barnet, visited Barnet Hospital on Friday for an extensive briefing on the implementation of the Barnet, Enfield and Haringey (BEH) Clinical Strategy which was implemented on 9th December. The BEH Strategy means that A&E and maternity services have been expanded at Barnet, to accommodate additional patients formerly using Chase Farm. Theresa spent the afternoon being shown around the newly expanded facilities by Baroness Wall, the chairman of the hospital.
Following the visit, Theresa said: "I'm reassured that the implementation of the BEH Strategy has gone smoothly so far. Apparently, Monday was a very busy day at A&E at Barnet but that reflected what was happening across London."
"It was good to see the completion of expanded and improved facilities in the A&E including new specialist services for children. The switch over of maternity services from Chase Farm also seems to have gone well in its first days of operation."
"I have been monitoring the implementation of the BEH Strategy with care over many months. I will continue to seek assurances from the Hospital Trust to ensure that every possible effort is made to provide my constituents with the high quality health care which they need."
