Theresa joined 80 guests for the BAWA lunch which included Cllr Melvin Cohen who is the Mayor of Barnet, Farhana Moussa, The Chairperson of BAWA, Conservative councillors Andreas and Joanna Tambourides, Nahida Syed, event organiser, the BAWA committee members and many voluntary carers from the Association’s Day Centre. The event took place at the BAWA centre at Friary House, Friary Road. As part of the festivities, BAWA gave a donation to the Mayor’s Charity.
Theresa said: “It was an honour to attend this event, which marked an early start to the Diwali season. The Barnet Asian Women’s Association does excellent work in the community and clearly all the guests enjoyed the party very much.”

Barnet Asian Women’s Association run three community projects, mainly with volunteers, which include a day care centre for elderly people, a domestic violence programme and a mental health programme.
