Mr Demetriou was keen to meet with teachers and pupils to discuss progress and tour the school’s amazing new facilities. He was given a tour of the building by the Head Teacher of East Barnet, Nick Christou. The Minister also presented the Hellenic school’s Chairman, Chris Papa, with a new laptop computer to help with the running of the school and to demonstrate his commitment to raising educational standards.
Theresa said, “It is a great achievement for Hellenic School to be selected as one of the four schools for Mr Demetriou to visit. The new facilities at East Barnet School are fantastic and I’m sure both pupils and teachers will continue to thrive as a result.”
“We are extremely fortunate in Chipping Barnet to have access to such a wide range of educational choice, meaning that children with Cypriot heritage have the opportunity to learn about the Greek language, history and culture.”
