After a long wait, Theresa has been assured that the business case and funding for the redevelopment is now in place, meaning work can start within weeks. Once work gets underway in April, the build is only expected to take twelve weeks to complete, meaning the new health centre will open in June. The old health centre was destroyed by fire in January 2010.
Theresa said, “It is great news that after a long wait, residents in Brunswick Park will have their health centre back. I will be keeping a close eye on progress to ensure the building work is delivered on time and look forward to the opening.”
Brunswick Park Ward Councillor, Andreas Tambourides, added, “The new health centre is long overdue and will be a huge relief to local residents, especially the elderly, who have had to travel and register with other practices. It will also relieve the pressure that has been put on other local surgeries and their staff.”
