The event, entitled ‘The Fight Against Anti-Semitism – Are We Winning?’, focused on the report of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Anti-Semitism, of which Theresa is a member, and the impact it has had.
Other members of the panel included David Burrowes, MP for Enfield Southgate, Richard Benson, Chief Executive of the Community Security Trust and Danny Stone, Director of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Anti-Semitism. The event was attended by over seventy people.
Speaking after the event, Theresa said, “Both the Coalition and previous Government have responded very seriously to the report on anti-semitism that I took part in writing. I very much welcome the progress that has been made as a result, including on police recording of anti-semitic incidents and security funding for Jewish schools.”
“However, there is always more that can be done to combat anti-semitic behaviour in Britain. I am particularly concerned about anti-semitic incidents in college and university campuses and the use of the internet as a means of carrying out and promoting anti-semitic abuse.”
“It is vital that we continue to be vigilant and take robust action on this kind of unacceptable behaviour.”
