James and Mary Ravenscroft, who founded the charity in 1679, originally drew up an agreement to ensure the care and support of six lady residents residing in Ravenscroft Cottages in Wood Street, Barnet.
The charity still runs accommodation in Wood Street.Their other local housing is located in: Monken Hadley, Grasvenor Avenue and Potters Lane. They are an inclusive charity who provides support to women of all faiths and none.
