Refuse collection teams across the country were forced to suspend their rounds, some since the middle of December, when the weather conditions became too severe for the vehicles and crews to operate safely. However, Barnet Council avoided delays by sending gritting vehicles out with the refuse trucks to clear problematic streets, so enabling the rubbish to be collected safely and on time.
Theresa said, “Barnet Council have done an excellent job of keeping weekly refuse collections going as planned despite the difficult weather conditions.”
“Thanks to good organisation and forward planning by the Council, Barnet has managed to avoid the problems seen in other parts of the country, whereby huge backlogs of rubbish have caused upset and frustration over Christmas and the New Year.”
