The school operates in the Totteridge Academy, Barnet Lane, on Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings.Theresa was visiting the school at the request of its head teacher Michael Ellinas. In her speech, she said:
"It is great that Manor Hill Greek School is flourishing. An education in the Greek language and culture provides children from the British Cypriot community with a real appreciation and understanding of their heritage, as well as strengthening community ties."
"Fluency in a second language will also be a real career asset to children attending the school."
"I am really impressed with the quality of the teaching at Manor Hill and the dedicated work of the parents and supporters who raise money to support the schools."
The Totteridge Academy Headteacher, Paul Ferry, also addressed the assembly with further praise for the initiative. Theresa concluded her visit with a tour of the classes where she was able to meet a number of the pupils.
