Theresa Villiers, MP for Chipping Barnet, met representatives of the British Heart Foundation today in Parliament and pledged her support for the research they do to help people with heart and circulatory conditions.
Theresa was given a briefing on the work done by the British Heart Foundation and the crucial role their shops play in raising money and ensuring that goods which might otherwise be thrown away are re-used or recycled.
Theresa said "For 50 years the British Heart Foundation have been doing great work to improve the treatment of heart disease and to promote healthier lifestyles."
"I was impressed to hear that the British Heart Foundation shop on Barnet High Street has raised around £66,400 for the charity's life saving work. This has helped fund defibrillators in the constituency and also local Health at Work schemes to promote heart health in the workplace."
"It was a great pleasure to meet representatives of the British Heart Foundation today and to be one of many MPs to hear about their work and offer support."
