Rishi Sunak this morning visited a Jewish school in Barnet to express his support and solidarity with the Jewish community, following the appalling Hamas terror attacks in southern Israel.
Local MP, Theresa Villiers, joined Mr Sunak for the visit to the school which is located in her constituency.
“I welcome the Prime Minster coming to Barnet to reiterate his strong support for Israel and the Jewish community at this very difficult time,” Theresa said.
“The UK Government has condemned Hamas’s horrific terrorist attack in the strongest terms, as have I.”
“The recent outbreak of antisemitic incidents is shocking and unacceptable and the Home Secretary is providing additional funding to support the work of the police and the Community Security Trust in safeguarding the Jewish community.”
“This morning, the Prime Minister and I heard immensely moving and powerful words from young people reflecting on the situation in the Middle East, expressing fear and concern for friends and family in Israel.”
“In visits and messages to synagogues and Jewish schools over the past few days, I have expressed my strong support for the right of Israel to defend itself and its citizens.”
