Theresa Villiers, MP for Chipping Barnet, has welcomed the news that clothing chain H&M will join other local and national retailers in the refurbished Spires shopping centre. The store will be located in a flagship two-storey unit at the heart of the Spires, taking pride of place in the planned multi-million-pound redevelopment. The Spires already hosts several clothing stores, along with Carluccio’s restaurant, cafes, and other local and national businesses.
Theresa Villiers said: “This is good news for the local high street. Along with local residents and the Barnet Town Team, I have been working to support businesses in High Barnet to try to give our town centre a thriving mix of local and national stores. H&M will be a great addition to the Spires and to Barnet town centre.
“I am very excited about the planned revamp of the Spires and would encourage people from across Barnet and Hertsmere can come to High Barnet for shopping and a bite to eat at one of our many restaurants and cafés.”
