As Remembrance services took place around the country, Theresa Villiers laid a wreath on behalf of Her Majesty's Government at the cenotaph outside Belfast City Hall.
Speaking after the event, Theresa Villiers said: "It was a honour to be able to lay a wreath at the cenotaph in Belfast on behalf of the Government. It was a very moving ceremony with many veterans in attendance, along with First Minister, Peter Robinson, and Irish Minister for Foreign Affairs, Charlie Flanagan."
"It was humbling to reflect on the bravery and sacrifice of so many men and women who have served in the armed forces over the last hundred years. We must always remember them."
Theresa was represented at the Remembrance service at St John the Baptist Church in High Barnet by former President of the Chipping Barnet Conservative Association, David Clarke, who laid a wreath there on her behalf.
