The shortlist has been announced for NHS Parliamentary Awards 2020. Alongside her colleague, Mike Freer, MP for Finchley and Golders Green, Theresa Villiers the Barnet Sats Probe Home Delivery Team.
Established at the height of the first Covid wave, redeployed staff, and local volunteers, supported by GPs, came together to set up an innovative new service to deliver oxygen saturation probes to patients’ homes helping people stay at home with their loved ones, and protecting NHS frontline staff. The team delivered real change both in supporting patients in their own homes and how the NHS works with local volunteers supporting their community
Welcoming the news that the team had reached the next stage of the competition, Theresa Villiers said: "I’m delighted that this inspirational group of NHS professionals and volunteers have been shortlisted. Outstanding work like this deserves recognition. The whole country owes a huge debt of gratitude to NHS front line workers and volunteers who have been helping and supporting them during the emergency. The NHS Parliamentary Awards are a great way to show that appreciation."
All the regional champions are now invited to the national award ceremony in the House of Commons in July 2021, where the overall winners will be announced.
